A few background facts
You can hardly believe it, but there are actually Berliners who born in Berlin are and still live here today: My husband and I are such. I was born in the west, he in the east and now we have been living with our children in the middle of Berlin in Friedrichshain for many years. We travel a lot from here. Although my son is not yet in kindergarten at the age of 2, we have organized everyday work in such a way that everything is compatible. As a family companion, I give courses for parents and children, offer advice, give workshops for parents or specialist staff. In the evening I am currently writing my second book “Growing safely”, the book for my blog. Otherwise I like to go to museums with the children, we do handicrafts and paint a lot together.
When did you start blogging??
My blog has been growing safely September 2012.

What made you start a blog??
In my work there are topics that come up again and again: sleeping, nutrition, carrying etc. I have told the same things over and over again and at the same time I was amazed at how little knowledge there is about new, bond-oriented life models. My husband kept advising me to blog about it. At some point I did it. In the beginning I actually wrote about screaming, sleeping etc. – the topics of my work. But I noticed more and more that just now everyday issues are also important and with more and more letters I have expanded the range of my articles. Now I write about my thoughts almost every day as a mother, upbringing principles and everyday experiences. I present things that accompany us in everyday life and that I find good and give insights into life with two children.

Which readers would you like to reach with your blog and which topics are particularly important to you?
It’s about me attachment-oriented parenthood. With the blog I want to reach parents who are interested in it or those who are not yet familiar with this path. As a pedagogue it is close to my heart that families are doing well, that children are taken into account in their needs and that they grow safely and loved can – and parents with them. It not only has to be good for the children, but also for the parents and I try to show ways how this can be reconciled.
On which portals can you still be found?
Growing safely now has a big one Facebook community of more than 6000 fans. There is daily exchange and I like to share other nice articles that I find online. I also move on Twitter and Instagram. Since the beginning of the year, my articles can also be sent directly to my cell phone via WhatsApp, which is currently used by around 300 people.
What is your favorite product from the thousand child range?
Phew, that’s difficult. We have many things from the range. I particularly like the “play well” category. We have already found Christmas and birthday presents here that have always been very well received. My daughter’s absolute favorite toy is the Kathe Kruse doll, the son loves his Beck tractor. For the son’s birthday in October, I flirt with the Steiff dragon (since he was born in the year of the dragon) or a doll by Heidi Hilscher, because he loves his sister’s dolls so much.
